A journey called life

A journey called life
Moves on at its pace
Sometimes it needs a direction
But mostly finds its own space

It follows some known paths
But tries unexplored trails on its own
Since it knows it has to move on
Despite all the risks unknown

Life in a quest to complete itself
Finds ways to move ahead
It struggles to fly to be there
And opens the wings in a spread

Life’s a long journey
But is as short as well
For when it reaches the destination
No one can actually tell

Emotions

Emotions are our feelings. What a simple statement to make. But emotions & feelings are very complex. Not at all easy to understand. And even more difficult to express. Just like human relations are complicated, emotions attached with them are also multifarious. Emotions can be the starting point or the end result of a situation. Emotions are interlinked. They behave just like a chain reaction. And they're contagious. Phew!!!!

I don't know why am I trying to write on something as complicated as emotions. Not that there's any inspiration. But just that the way our emotions change & the way they make or break our days really fascinates me. Humans are humans because they can feel these emotions. Largely their actions are governed by these emotions. We behave in a certain way as an end result of a certain emotion that we may've felt.

Another interesting thing worth mentioning is that we can feel more than one emotion at the same time. They may be related or even bizzarely different. Even completely opposite to each other. Yet we feel them together & act accordingly. Well that's what makes them so multifaceted. Also, different people react to same emotions differently. Actions being generated by these emotions are different in different humans. And that's what creates unrest amongst people. It becomes difficult for one person to understand another person's actions because of the same emotion they may've experienced. This creates more complications.

Well my purpose behind writing all this is not to try & understand the complex nature of emotions since that's something that can not & should not be even tried. Just that I want to prove this to myself that I at least know one thing for sure...that emotions are COMPLEX!!!! And they affect us BIG TIME.

that one step...

life moves on with each step that we take. one step at a time. we think, we plan, sometimes not even do that and take a step. but unless we take that one step, we can't know if what we've done is right or wrong. so the best thing to do in any situation is to take a decision & go ahead with it with full conviction. but then somethings are easier said than done. sometimes we've the courage to take that one step but not the persistence to stand by it & face the consequencies. but still it's important to take that step. life opens up more windows to justify that step. we just need to have faith. faith in oneself & faith is almighty god. and life will uncomplicate itself.

While on my way to office a few months back, I think in december last year, I had seen something that makes chill run down my body even today. I was sitting near the window in my chartered & as usual was busy with my own thoughts when suddenly I saw everyone looking out. As my eyes moved in the same direction, what I saw froze me. Lying on the pavement, just under the Shastri Nagar Metro Station, was a young girl of not more than 21-22 years. A police man was standing next to her but neither he nor any of the onlookers were trying to help her. For a second I thought the girl was dead & I almost shivered. But just then I saw her move. Thank God she was alive. I could feel a lump in my throat. I wanted to get down & help her since nobody was willing to do that. But then I heard an ambulance approaching. Well it was a relief that now she'll be taken care of. My chartered moved on. I reached office but couldn't take that sight out of my mind. My thoughts were still with that female. I was praying & hoping she should be fine. But there was something else also that was bothering me. This had happened to somebody I didn't know but what if it had been me, my sister, a cousin or a friend of mine in place of her. This thought still haunts me. This whole episode was scary then, is today & will always be.

Visiting a dentist is a torture...

Today I can not think of anything else except the torture I had undergone last evening when I had finally visited my dentist. It took me full two months, yes you read it right, to finally gather the courage & go. And well my fear was not wrong. He made me sit on the hot seat for one & a half hours with my mouth open doing something inside that obviously I couldn't see but could only feel. By the end of it my head was spinning, my jaw was aching & my stomach was growling. I had not eaten anything since 1.30 in the afternoon & the doc instructed me not to have anything for next one hour or till the numbness was gone. Finally i could manage to eat at 11.30 in the night. The worst part is I've to go again today. God please help me & give me the courage to undergo this torture again.

The same old debate

This is an everyday debate which would never end since it can never have any conclusion. Men vs Women. Especially for somebody like me who strongly believes that women are not the lesser beings & they can match every step of men. In fact women are superior in most of the things. But then men are not the species who can admit this. While on way to office, I got this sms from a female friend that read - A girl is always right...just sometimes confused, misinformed, rude, stubborn, senseless, unchageable and even downright stupid, but never Wrong!!!! Now see how different females are. They can laugh at themselves, admit all this & still enjoy their lives but men really get stuck. Can any male ever admit that men are mostly confused, sometimes irrational, sometimes insensitive, very much unchangeable, stubborn and yes stupid too? I don't think so. Males don't have the courage to even admit this to themselves forget about writing it & sharing with others especially females. They're very insecure beings.

IPL. Indian Premier League. I think this is the biggest thing that has ever happened to cricket in the world. This is the 3rd season & the entire country is going crazy. And surprisingly the TAM study shows that female viewership has increased drastically since last year. What's there in IPL that everything else stops when a match is on? Let's analyze. They say the only two things that can make this nation go crazy are cricket & bollywood. And IPL has both. Country's biggest bollywood star owns an IPL team. What's more? Country's richest man owns a team. Country's biggest liquor baron owns a team. So much so forth even Team India's official sponsor couldn't keep itself away from IPL inspite of the fact that they had the National team in their kitty. So now here's the Sahara Group who own the most expensive IPL team. The attraction is so strong that many international players who have retired from first class cricket are playing here & are performing like never before. Sachin who doesn't play T-20 cricket for India has become the highest run scorer & has brought his team on the top of the tally.

Another thing that makes IPL a big hit is that every team has Indian players. So every match becomes interesting since some or the other favorite player is playing. And when Sachin is playing, no matter what city one lives in & supports, one cheers for Sachin only. The live example was this Delhi & Mumbai match being played in Delhi. A friend had gone to watch the same & as it could be seen, inspite of it being the delhi crowd, the entire stadium was cheering for Sachin when he hitting fours & sixes. Well the home team lost but crowd was nonetheless happy having seen Sachin play one of his brilliant knocks.

Another big plus point with IPL is that it's the shortest form of cricket & therefore even the non-avid followers of the game don't mind spending some time & becoming part of this madness.

Different people have different reasons to support any particular team. As in my case, I'm a big KKR fan. Well honestly it has nothing to do with the players or their class but has everything to do with the owner. Yes since Shah Rukh Khan owns KKR, I support them. I place them even above DD. And yes, this might shock you, above MI too. Though am a big fan of Sachin but SRK beats everyone. I sometimes wish Shah Rukh had bought MI & then it would've been a deadly combination for me. But then I can just wish. My sister supports RR 'coz they were the underdogs in the 1st season & they went on to win and now she supports them in every season.

I want KKR to outplay everyone this season & go on to win. They started very well but just after winning two games, their losing streak started & brought them down to the bottom four. I was happy when they won the last match & I just hope this continues now. Shah Rukh & KKR rock. And so does IPL.

Friday, March 26, 2010. The day when somebody motivated me to start writing again. Haven't written anything for a long time now. Last post being in June'09. It's 5.02 pm by my laptop clock. As I look outside my desk window, I can see Sun going down. Everything seems so calm. I don't know why but there's this soft smile on my face. Am feeling good & happy.
